on Oct. 26, 1949. Wood continued playing roles of young girls until the age of 17,

opposite James Dean and Sal Mineo.

next to Elizabeth Taylor. Durign her career, Wood made 56 films for TV and
Cinema, among them "West Side Story" (1961) in which she played Maria.
She married three times, twice to US actor Robert Wagner.

in 1957 and divorced in 1962. They remarried in 1972 on their yacht "Splendour"
