Minnie Driver learned she was no longer Matt Damon's GF about the same time as the rest of the world: During his 1998 appearance on Oprah when the actor said he was single. That was news to Driver, who had been dating her Good Will Hunting co-star for the past seven months. "It's unfortunate that Matt went on Oprah," she told the Los Angeles Times. "It seemed like a good forum for him to announce to the world that we were no longer together, which I found fantastically inappropriate."

The relationship between the very private stars Isabelle Adjani and Daniel Day-Lewis ended abruptly in 1996 — but not by fax, as some reports claimed. Rest assured, the breakup was still bad. Just as the Oscar-winning actor was headed to a Paris clinic to deal with a nervous breakdown, the French actress told him she was pregnant. "Not by fax as has been mistakenly reported," explained Adjani. "My love for him did not waver but I guess he did not feel the same. We never saw each other again. He never told me it was over. I wish he had because I like clarity."
