Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria

Victoria Ingrid Alice Désirée, Crown Princess of Sweden, Duchess of Västergötland, is the eldest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia, and was born on 14 July 1977.
The declaration of Crown Princess Victoria's majority took place in the Hall of State at the Royal Palace of Stockholm on 14 July 1995.
The Crown Princess will be Sweden's first female Head of State from the Bernadotte Dynasty. In modern times Sweden has only had two queens regnant, Kristina and Ulrika Eleonora.
Tuesday 24 February, 2009, The Crown Princess and Mr Daniel Westling announced their engagement at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. The wedding took place on 19 June, 2010.

Nature and outdoor activities, including walking and skiing, are among The Crown Princess's favourite pastimes.
She loves spending her summers at Solliden Palace on the island of Öland, where she enjoys helping out with gardening activities and has inherited Queen Victoria's (1862 - 1930) great interest in bee-keeping and production of honey.
The Crown Princess is interested in art and enjoys painting. She is also a great animal lover. Dogs are her favourite animals and she loves to take long walks with her labrador Jambo.

She is the world's only female heir apparent.

She is godmother to a number of royal children including Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway and Prince Christian of Denmark.

She became heir in 1980 when the Swedish Constitution changed the line of succession to a monarch's oldest child, regardless of gender.

The princess has worked as a trainee at the United Nations in New York and at the Swedish Embassy in Washington.

The princess has been educated in Sweden, France and the United States.

The heir to the Swedish throne, who was celebrating her 30th birthday, received a flat screen TV from the Swedish government.
